Meet the staff and residents, ask questions. Maybe even participate in one of the activities offered so you can truly get a sense of the place. Since this is going to be your new home you want to make sure that it’s a good fit for you and that you’re going to be comfortable there.
At the end of the day, no matter how prepared you are, the emotions behind this type of transition can still be overwhelming.
